| Built by Harland and Wolff in Belfast, Ireland at a cost of $10,000,000, she was the largest and most detailed ship of that time. Her maiden voyage on April 14, 1912 ended with the tragic loss of 1,500 persons and was regarded as the worst sea disaster of the early 20th century. The model was designed and built by Bill Hartman and assembled in the Philippines with the assistance of the Filipino students of Pacific Tall Ships and required 1,600 man hours. The extensive model building knowledge of Mr. Hartman was instrumental in making this model of R.M.S. Titanic. Scratch built. |
