The HMS Royal William was launched in 1719 at Portsmouth, England. It was the third ship with that name. It was enrolled as a first rank vessel. She was 68.5 meters long, 12.8 meters wide and carried 80 guns. In 1782 HMS Royal William took part in the naval operations which led to the liberation of Gibraltar.
