Rainbow "J" was the class defender of the America's Cup in 1934. In spite of the fact that the Rainbow was built with the latest technology in shipbuilding, the boat had difficulties beating the challenging Endeavour, which proved to be very fast and dominated the first two races. It was one the most dramatic challenges of the America's Cup history.
