MODEL BUILDING INFORMATION

If you send us detailed photos of your model, Pacific Tall Ships will quote you a price to complete the model. Does not matter what stage the model is in.....it could still be in the box! Most completions will be within a 90 day period.

The models are estimated at the wholesale value of the completed models you see on our website for comparisons. We consider a model to be 50% complete with the hull done while the rigging is the other 50%. If you match your model closest to one of our models on the site, it will give you the retail value of the model. The wholesale price is 25% less than the retail.

Example: One of our models retails for $2000.00, wholesales for $1500.00 Your stage of completion is 50% or $750.00 with 50% or $750.00 remaining. Our estimate based on your photos will be within +/-10% of the wholesale value.

When quoting, we will also include shipping and handling for the completed model to be sent back to you from the Chicago area. The cost to have your model shipped and insured to us is at your expense. In shipping the completed model back to you, if additional crating is required it will be at our expense and will include an appraisal for the completed value of the ship. Should we discover that there are missing parts from your kit, we will inform you of any additional charge for missing parts that are still available to order or have to be manufactured before we get started on completing your model.

Once a quote has been agreed upon, we will ask you to sign an agreement and request a 50% deposit. The balance is due when the model is completed and ready to be shipped. Pacific Tall Ships will send you a photograph of your completed model and insures the model at retail value when shipping.
