The dramatic mutiny led by Fletcher Christian against the infamous Captain Bligh made the HMS Bounty one of the most famous of all ships. After completing a commissioned trip to Tahiti, Fletcher and his mutineers forced Bligh into the launch with 18 of his loyal supporters. Bligh survived the perilous voyage, and went on to pursue a highly successful career. HMS Bounty is double planked, her inner shell is lime wood, with an outer skin of walnut. Shiny brass galleries, cannon, falconets, and transom serve to set off the beauty of the dark, rich wood. Sculptured figurehead is cast in bronze. Other fittings of copper, bronze, brass and hardwoods add authentic detail, together with the frames and keel that are laser cut.
