This is the typical type of vessel used by Philippine fishermen in deep water or open sea fishing. It is also used for general inter-island transport in any of the 7,100 islands in the country. Most of the boats are motor powered boats which ferry passengers at a capacity of at least 10 people per Banka. The Banka comes in many different sizes and may also be operated with paddle oars. Designed and built by Gualberto Antiquera.
